The Deerfield Trail, most often referred to as Trail #40, is a point-to-point trail traveling from near Pactola Lake at the eastern end to Deerfield Lake at the western end. Trail #40 shares some of its length with the Centennial Trail #89 at the eastern end before passing Silver City, traveling along Rapid Creek and Slate Creek, crossing and sharing some of its length with the Mickelson Trail and finally ending by intersecting the Deerfield Lake Loop Trail #40L.
